We are a small town and when more than 20 people know something, Most any of us that are interested will learn of it too. I don't know where the council members stand on who you support from the remaining candidates for the city management position. What I do know is both this city council and the previous city council have been very vocal about addressing racial injustice. The previous council held a special forum on July 7, addressing racial and social injustice and inequities in South The current City Council appointed two council members, Jill and Melissa at the January 26, 2021 council meeting to a diversity equity, and inclusion. working room. This working group was formed to ensure implementation of actions that could be taken by the cities of Sausalito in support of racial justice, especially with our neighbors in Marin City. there is an opportunity before you to demonstrate that commitment. The city manager selection process has been going on for four months. We are nearing the end of the process and there is a black candidate that is still being considered. That tells me this person is considered qualified by the city council to become our next city manager. This is an opportunity that should not be squandered. Please select the black candidate for our next city manager. Thank you for your ongoing work for our community. |
