00:01:10.45 Steven Woodside And I am here as well. And so the only order of today's business in today's special meeting is to do a recognition of our sister city in Vina del Mar and all the volunteers in the Northern and Southern Hemisphere that make this incredible program vital and lively. There's going to be a few remarks from our visitors as well as our local volunteers and supporters. And there will be a reading of the proclamation which I'm going to invite my colleagues to share much like we did our own Declaration of Independence on the 4th of July so we'll break it up and we'll have a reading starting with our liaison to the sister city program Councilmember Hoffman we'll do that after we hear from the program itself and I'll break it up And then, but I just want to see, are there any remarks from any of my council colleagues right now?
00:02:02.12 Unknown I will just apologize in advance. I have a 930 work call, so I may have to sneak out. But my pleasure to be here and thank you all for joining.

00:03:26.38 Unknown Hello, good morning and welcome to everyone. I want to say that we are very proud of this program and we are very happy to have everyone here with us at Sosalito and enjoy this week. Thank you very much.
00:03:46.78 Steven Woodside Okay, thank you very much. And if there are no other comments, then please, Monica, go right ahead.
00:03:52.53 Monica First of all, I want to thank the city council and all of our staff and city manager for coming this morning. It's really fantastic to see you. I know it's early and I know everybody is really busy. So many, many thanks for being here. This is important opportunity for us. This is the first time in five years that we've been able to have an exchange with Viña del Mar because of COVID and some of the other challenges that we have. A real brief summary of what we're doing this week. The theme is Sausalito Renaissance, navigating the pandemic. And so many of the presentations and the discussions we're having are how we moved our way through some of the COVID issues within the city and how much the community rallied around and helped everyone. So I think we've come out to the other end. We've got still some challenges, but we want to share with our friends what we have done. The second component is we're really excited to have reached into Vina de Mar a little further and are inviting our bomberos,, to join our Southern Marin Fire Department for best practices exchange. As you know, our cities and our geography is pretty much the same with earthquakes, fires, sea level rise, and a lot of disaster information. So I think they are here to share a little bit of their current experience. And I'd just like Ximena to come up real quickly.

And if she would introduce the Vigne de Mar I have women. And then Kevin Bedwell from the fire group will come up and interview, introduce the firefighters. We know we have about 15, 20 minutes, so we're going to stick to that schedule. And Jimena, could you step forward and maybe give a little introduction?

So this year for us is a really important year because we have achieved 140 years of service. On the other hand, our experience here in South Salito so far is really good. Thank you.
00:10:53.95 Monica I don't know if Kevin mentioned this, but did you mention that they're all volunteers? So, for example, Pablo has been volunteering for 25 years as a firefighter, which is amazing. And when we picked up Kevin, he got called out at 1 o'clock in the morning after traveling for 24 hours. So it's a big, big change. And he says, I'm used to it. I'm used to it. Okay. So that's our group for the week. We hope you experience everyone and come to the exhibit and hope you come to the dance party and the farewell party. We have a lot of things going on.
